Happy Mother’s Day to our patients!

Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 10th in Guatemala and May 30th in Nicaragua. It’s a very important holiday in Nicaragua and Guatemala, and very important to Health & Help too!

Mother’s Day is a celebration of motherhood and everything that mothers do for their families and communities. In Nicaragua and Guatemala, women typically play the leading role in raising the family and looking after children and the household. This is so important, without mothers, nothing would get done!

At Health & Help, we provide women and mothers with the support they need to be healthy and stay healthy. This begins before women even become mothers, by performing regular medical checks, helping them with their menstrual cycles, reproductive health and family planning.

We assist with normal pregnancies and make sure that mothers have all the support, resources and knowledge that they need to look after themselves and their children. We will carry out regular checks on the fetus and mother throughout pregnancy. We educate mothers on the development of the baby, how to breastfeed and the importance of vaccinations. 

Being a mother is hard so that’s why we want to make our clinics a safe space for women to access affordable healthcare and educational resources. Armed with the knowledge and help we share, mothers can live longer and healthier lives and make sure that their children do the same.
