This is one of the key positions in the organization. As Country Director, you will oversee Health & Help’s operations and development in Guatemala—managing daily clinic activities, supporting staff and volunteers, handling finances and procurement, building partnerships, and representing the organization to stakeholders. We are looking for an organized, strategic leader with experience in nonprofit or healthcare management who is passionate about making a difference in resource-limited settings.

Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee daily clinic operations.
- Manage budget and financial reporting.
- Handle purchasing and supply logistics.
- Source and attract humanitarian aid.
- Ensure availability of medication, equipment, and supplies.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement organizational strategy in Guatemala.
- Staff Management:
- Lead recruitment and onboarding of staff and volunteers.
- Support team well-being and professional development.
- Address issues and resolve conflicts.
- Compliance, Licenses, and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local laws, medical standards, and safety policies.
- Manage and renew all necessary licenses and permits.
- Oversee permits for treatment, humanitarian aid, and volunteers.
- Prepare regular reports.
- Collaborate with the Operations Director and department heads.
- Building Partnerships and Fundraising:
- Build relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
- Work with government agencies, local and international organizations, and community leaders.
- Organize and participate in events to attract support.
- Representation and Communications:
- Represent the organization at public events, fundraisers, and in the media.
- Meet with partners and key stakeholders.
- Maintain direct interaction with local authorities, police, and the Ministry of Health.
Skills & Requirements:
- Experience: 3–5 years in leadership roles in nonprofit, public health, or related fields; international experience is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in public health, nonprofit management, or a related area; higher or secondary medical education is preferred.
- Languages: Spanish (B2+) required at the start (we offer Spanish tutoring beforehand!); English (B1+) also required.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, team management, and team-building skills.
- Flexibility: Be willing to work on-site, travel regularly within Guatemala and occasionally to nearby countries, with some remote admin tasks.
